I am discovering techno as a background while I’m writing it. I decided to try out the recommendation from an article by Stan Paris in LitHub on how he cured his writer’s block.
Student, artist, magician - but aren't we all? Editor of prose, rag and bone image maker, spoken word performance - an amateur in the highest and best sense of the word.

Music has always been something I have never been able to tune out when I write. I can tune out traffic, house noises, etc but not music.
When I painted, however, jazz was generally playing in the studio…. Thanks for sharing!
Hey Patricia – thanks for the comment! Yeah, traffic is easy to let slide. I really like the sound of a rainstorm for concentration, too. Going to experiment with the techno, which really, really works for me, btw! Jazz is up there, I have a hunch.
Do you have any jazz artists you recommend in particular?
Best,
Michele
